Oberursel (dpa/lhe) - A 16-year-old boy was hit by a subway train in Oberursel on Saturday and was seriously injured. According to a police spokesman, the subway runs above ground at this point. Pedestrians can therefore cross the rails at the scene of the accident, where instead of a barrier there is a St. Andrew's cross with a light signal and various warnings.
According to the current state of investigation, it is assumed that the pedestrian crossed the railroad tracks despite the light signal and was grazed by the slowly passing subway. The 16-year-old fell and was seriously injured. Paramedics took him to a hospital.
