Hesse: Beuth presents the 2021 report for the protection of the constitution

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Hesse's Minister of the Interior Peter Beuth (CDU) and President of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution Robert Schäfer will present the 2021 Office for the Protection of the Constitution on Monday (9.30 a.m.) in Wiesbaden. The Hessian security authorities have recently registered, among other things, a progressive radicalization of parts of the "Reichsbürger" scene. In the letters typical of the scene, in some cases there had recently been a sharpening of the tone and a more aggressive style of expression, including threats of violence and death, Beuth explained in May.

When presenting the report for the protection of the constitution for 2020, Schäfer warned urgently of the dangers of right-wing extremism and an increase in acts of violence in Hesse. The number of violent right-wing extremists increased again compared to the previous year to 860 men and women.
