Hesse: Coalition wants mayoral election on March 5th

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - The Frankfurt government coalition and the CDU propose March 5 as the date for the upcoming mayoral elections in Frankfurt. This was announced by the group leader of the Greens, Dimitrios Bakakis, on Monday on request. The joint proposal by the coalition of Greens, SPD, FDP and Volt as well as the opposition CDU should be submitted this Monday afternoon. The vote on the date in the city council is therefore planned for the next plenary session on November 17th. Any runoff election could take place on March 26th. Incumbent Peter Feldmann (SPD) was voted out by a clear vote in a referendum on Sunday.
