Hesse: Doctors at university clinics get more money

Wiesbaden/Frankfurt (dpa/lhe) - The state of Hesse and the Marburger Bund doctors' union have agreed on a new collective agreement for doctors at Hessian university clinics. According to this, the doctors should receive a special corona payment of up to 4500 euros this December for the year 2022, as Interior Secretary Stefan Sauer announced on Friday in Wiesbaden. From January 1, 2023, according to the new contract, the doctors will then receive 3.9 percent more salary with a term until the end of 2023.

In the negotiations between the state and the University Hospital Gießen and Marburg (UKGM), representatives of the University Hospital Frankfurt also sat at the table and joined the agreement, explained the Ministry of the Interior. According to the Marburg Association, the result applies to a total of around 2,200 doctors and dentists at university clinics, including 1,300 doctors at the UKGM.

The union explained that increased surcharges for night and Sunday work and, for the first time, financial compensation if the services of colleagues who are absent at short notice have to be taken over have also been agreed. The declaration period for the tariff result is until November 11, 2022.
