Hesse: High additional costs: Nassauische does not want to give notice to tenants

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - The Nassauische Heimstätte (NHW) housing association does not want to evict tenants who can no longer pay their ancillary costs due to the rise in energy prices. Hesse's largest housing company in Frankfurt announced that "individual solutions" would be found.

"Nobody has to fear for their home because of the war in Ukraine," said NHW Managing Director Thomas Hain. Energy and Housing Minister Tarek Al-Wazir (Greens) welcomed the decision of the majority state-owned company in the statement shared on Friday.

Those affected should immediately contact NHW's rental debt counseling service to work out solutions. Since it is not foreseeable how energy prices will develop, NHW recommended that its tenants voluntarily increase the monthly deductions - as far as income allows.

According to its own information, NHW is one of the ten leading German housing companies with around 59,000 rental apartments in 115 Hessian municipalities.
