Hesse: motorcycle collides with car: 22-year-old seriously injured

Burghaun (dpa/lhe) - A 22-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car in Burghaun in East Hesse (Fulda district). With his machine, he grazed the rear of the car of a 66-year-old woman who turned left, the police said on Thursday. The driver fell from the motorcycle as a result of the impact on Wednesday evening. His motorcycle therefore spun further across the oncoming lane and under the crash barrier there. It finally caught fire. The 22-year-old was taken to the hospital, police said.

The car turned as a result of the collision and damaged the car of a 51-year-old who was stopping at the exit, it said. The two women were reportedly not injured. The vehicles involved suffered damage of around 14,000 euros. According to the police, the main road was closed for about three hours. An expert is now to clarify the exact cause of the accident.
