Hesse: Restaurant owner attacked: perpetrators in psychiatry

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - After an attack on the owner of a kebab restaurant in downtown Frankfurt, the perpetrator was permanently housed in a psychiatric clinic by the Frankfurt Regional Court. The 37-year-old from Kempten in Swabia poses a permanent danger to the general public, it was said to justify Wednesday's decision.

The accused went to Frankfurt in August last year to do errands at a consulate general. Since the office was not yet open, he went to the neighboring restaurant for tea. Suddenly he attacked the owner and injured him with a heavy stove attachment - the victim had to be hospitalized with broken ribs and a concussion.

In court, the perpetrator had made a confession and protested that he was sorry. With the accommodation in the hospital, he agreed, so that the decision is final.
