Darmstadt (dpa/lhe) - Second division soccer team SV Darmstadt 98 is adapting to the unusually long World Cup break and is splitting the preparation for the second half of the season into two parts. As the league leaders announced on Wednesday, the first phase before the Christmas holiday will take place until December 19th. Part two begins in early January.

On December 10th, the first of two friendlies before the winter break will take place against Oberliga club SV Morlautern, before the official inauguration of the converted Merck Stadium of the Swiss table leaders BSC Young Boys will come to Darmstadt on December 17th.

After the following break, coach Torsten Lieberknecht's team will start training again on January 3rd. From January 5th to 15th, the Hessians will complete a training camp in El Saler, Spain. A week before the start of the second half of the season against Jahn Regensburg on January 28, the Darmstadt team will test again against Swiss club FC Wil.
