Hesse: U-Committee on the Hanau attack is dedicated to dealing with victims

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - On Monday (from 9.30 a.m.) the investigative committee of the Hessian state parliament on the racist attack in Hanau will again deal with the handling of the survivors and the relatives of the murdered. A survivor, a undertaker and a chief inspector from the Federal Criminal Police Office are invited to the committee meeting. In addition, in the afternoon, three employees of the Mainz-Kinzig district will be asked why the perpetrator had been issued a gun license.

A 43-year-old German shot nine people with racist motives in Hanau on February 19, 2020. Then he killed his mother and himself. The investigative committee in the Hessian state parliament should clarify whether there was a failure of the authorities before, during and after the crime.
