Hessen: Hessen wants to facilitate the recognition of professional qualifications

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Hessen wants to facilitate the immigration of well-trained specialists from abroad. To this end, bureaucratic hurdles are to be removed, as Science Minister Angela Dorn (Greens) announced on Tuesday in the state parliament in Wiesbaden. "We need educators from Spain, Polish engineers and Mexican craftsmen and women," she said. Therefore, the procedures for the recognition of foreign professional and university degrees should be accelerated.

"We simplify routes, remove hurdles and still ensure quality. That brings concrete improvements for people who want to work in Hesse and who we urgently need here," said Dorn. In times of crisis, the consequences of the shortage of skilled workers are particularly noticeable.

Among other things, it is planned that companies in Germany will initiate the examination of qualifications for potential employees from abroad and thus be able to speed up the visa process. Documents no longer have to be submitted in the form of originals or certified copies, but can be sent electronically.
