"Just want to live": Nino de Angelo ends his career - after the album and tour

In the future, Nino de Angelo would rather devote himself to his family than rushing from one performance to the next. For this reason he is now announcing the end of his career. But there will still be a small consolation for his fans.

Nino de Angelo stops: "I'm ending my career," announced the hit star in the "Bild" newspaper. In two years, the 58-year-old should be over with music.

Before that, however, he will release his new and last album. "It will be released in 2023. It's about God and the world in the truest sense of the word. After reading this book, I feel like I've said everything I wanted to say." But he would also like to repeat all this on stage - which is why he will "certainly" go on tour again with the album, as he promises. "Probably not until 2024. And then it's over."

With the end of the career comes the sweet life: "As simple as that sounds: I intend to just live." According to de Angelo, he wants to spend more time with his family. "I finally want to live without the stress of having the next performance on my back again."

Traveling and maybe even emigrating are also on the agenda for the musician, who would like to continue writing songs for colleagues. At his side, his fiancee Simone. "I can imagine any destination with Simone. And maybe we'll emigrate to Italy. There are so many beautiful places in the world. I haven't seen them all by a long shot."

The musician announced his engagement to Simone in early 2021. Since 2018 he has been divorced from his last wife Larissa Schmitt, with whom he has been married since 2014 and had a child. From 1986 to 1998 Judith Coersmeier was de Angelo's wife, with whom he has two children. He also once married drama student Michaela (2003 to 2006) and childhood friend Renée (2007 to 2013).

Nino de Angelo has never made a secret of his addiction to alcohol and drugs in the past. For several years now he has been suffering from the incurable lung disease, COPD for short, in which the bronchi are permanently narrowed and breathing becomes difficult.
