"Make him a billionaire again": Kanye West's fans fail with a call for donations

Because of his anti-Semitic and racist outbursts, numerous companies are terminating their cooperation with Kanye West. The US rapper lost hundreds of millions of dollars as a result. But with the idea of a fundraising campaign, his fans also call creative critics into action.

"I can say anti-Semitic shit and Adidas can't drop me," Kanye West said provocatively on a podcast less than two weeks ago. But the US rapper, who has had a cooperation with the German company since 2013, was completely wrong. Because just a few days later, the million-dollar deal for expensive sneakers was a thing of the past. Gap and the luxury brand Balenciaga also announced their collaboration with the 45-year-old.

Due to the failures, the rapper is said to have lost a lot of money in the past few weeks. According to "Forbes", he was worth $6.6 billion around a year ago, but the magazine now estimates his property values at "only" around $400 million. But some fans are not deterred by the biggest nonsense that Kanye West says. And so they apparently tried to recover his lost money with an absurd idea.

As the celebrity portal "TMZ" reports, West fans on the "GoFundMe" website are said to have tried to make the musician a billionaire again with the help of appeals for donations. Accordingly, a GoFundMe page with the headline "Make Kanye West a Billionaire Again" appeared. The name is a reference to Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" advertising slogan. West is a self-confessed Trump fan and regularly wears the slogan on a red cap.

However, they failed with the project, "TMZ" continues. Only a few dollars were received before the appeal for donations was taken down. The reason for this was the guidelines of the platform. According to them, Kanye West should have been officially incorporated as a beneficiary.

However, critics of the rapper took advantage of the moment to start a counter-call. As can be seen in a screenshot shared by the celebrity portal, there are now dozens of new pages on "GoFundMe" with titles such as "Make me a millionaire and not Kanye a billionaire" or "Protect Kanye from billionaire status". According to "TMZ", these campaigns have not had much success either. None of them earned more than $25, most only made between five and six dollars.

Kanye West's Instagram account was recently blocked due to numerous anti-Semitic posts. He also made anti-Semitic comments on Twitter. But these tweets were only the sad end of a whole series of misconduct. At the beginning of October, West presented a T-shirt with the inscription "White Lives Matter" popular with US racists at the "Yeezy Paris Fashion Week Show", causing a scandal. He later spread lies about George Floyd's death. According to US media, he is also said to have planned to name a music album after Adolf Hitler, which he is said to have been "obsessed with".
