Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 16-year-old stabbed: three suspects caught

Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) - A 16-year-old boy was critically injured in a violent altercation in Neubrandenburg. As a police spokeswoman said on Wednesday, the incident happened on Tuesday evening in the eastern part of Neubrandenburg. In the meantime, three 17, 20 and 21-year-old suspects have been identified and arrested. One of the three suspects is said to have stabbed the youth in the upper body with a knife before the trio fled.

The arrested persons are being investigated for attempted manslaughter. The background to the incident is still unclear. The victim was cared for by rescuers and operated on in a hospital. He is now responsive and no longer in mortal danger, but not yet able to be questioned. The public prosecutor's office is examining whether arrest warrants have been applied for against the suspects.
