Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 48,000 young people can apply for an energy allowance

Rostock (dpa/mv) - Up to 48,000 young people in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania can soon apply for the energy price flat rate of 200 euros. According to the Ministry for Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs, the nationwide online application process will start on March 15. "The goal is a streamlined and, above all, fast procedure - as soon as the application is submitted to the nationwide central platform, processing and payment should be automated," explains Minister of Science Bettina Martin. To apply, students and technical students need either a federal ID and an online ID card or an Elster certificate.
