Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: CDU in MV refers to prime minister bonus

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The CDU in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has attributed the election defeat of the Christian Democrats in Lower Saxony to the Prime Minister's bonus. "The CDU in Lower Saxony did a very good election campaign, especially in the last 100 meters, but simply could not distinguish itself sufficiently in the unloved grand coalition," said CDU faction leader Franz-Robert Liskow on Sunday. "Despite an extremely poor performance by his party at federal level, Stephan Weil managed to benefit from his bonus as prime minister and defend first place, albeit at a very low level."
