Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Drese advises against flu vaccination

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Health Minister Stefanie Drese (SPD) advises people in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to be vaccinated against flu. "In contrast to the previous year, the first cases of influenza have already been reported to our State Office for Health and Social Affairs," said Drese on Wednesday in Schwerin. Experts therefore expect significantly more cases due to the decreasing immune protection and the easing of corona measures.

With reference to the Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko), the Ministry of Health recommends immunization against influenza, especially for those who have previously been ill and people over 60 years of age. According to Drese, now is the right time. A single vaccination between September and November is sufficient.
