Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: drunk men threatened police officers with knives at the mulled wine stand

Stralsund (dpa / mv) - A drunk man threatened a federal police officer who was not on duty at a mulled wine stand in Stralsund with a knife. The 40-year-old had already mobbed and insulted other guests on Wednesday evening and damaged a table, the police said. The 56-year-old police officer noticed the man and asked him to leave. After a short time, however, he returned and ran towards the officer and his companion with a cutter knife and a screwdriver. The federal police officer was able to bring the 40-year-old to the ground. Nobody got hurt.

A first alcohol test showed the man a value of 2.1 per mille. Criminal proceedings have been initiated.
