Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: fire destroys carport and cars: suspected arson

Weitendorf (dpa / mv) - A carport and two cars were destroyed by a fire near Weitendorf (Ludwigslust-Parchim district). The police are now investigating suspected arson. Witnesses heard a bang on Saturday night and then noticed the flames, police said on Sunday. First attempts to delete it were unsuccessful. When firefighters arrived, the carport was already engulfed in flames. Two cars parked underneath were also completely destroyed by the flames. Firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby houses. Nobody got hurt. According to initial estimates, damage to property amounted to 60,000 euros.
