Lübeck (dpa / mv) - Second division soccer team Hansa Rostock experienced bankruptcy at the northern regional league club VfB Lübeck in the first round of the DFB Cup. The Rostock team lost 0-1 (0-0) to their lower-class rivals on Saturday. VfB midfielder Tarik Gözüsirin scored the acclaimed winning goal in the 78th minute with a powerful shot from 16 meters. In the past twelve years, the Rostockers have failed in the first round for the tenth time. After the end of the game, some Hansa fans stormed the interior. Police forces pushed them back.
"All in all it was far too little from our side. "That's why we leave the pitch as deserved losers and unfortunately have to watch the cup." The coach wants to learn lessons from this and do a lot better in the second division season. The game, which started late - a hole in the Rostock goal net had to be patched first - was not at the highest level. Goal scenes in front of 10,500 spectators in the sold-out stadium at Lohmühle were rare for a long time. The Rostockers started more courageously, but the hosts held up surprisingly and the game was open. Hansa striker John Verhoek had the greatest opportunity just before the half-time break. However, his header only landed on the crossbar.
