Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The police in Schwerin are investigating a father who is said to have left his little daughter alone in a sunlit car for more than an hour. According to the information, passers-by became aware of the sleeping, warmly dressed and sweating child in the locked car. They called the authorities. As a police spokeswoman said on Friday, the incident is said to have occurred on Thursday in a parking lot in downtown Schwerin.
During the operation, the 52-year-old father appeared, opened the car and took the almost two-year-old child with him. The little one survived the incident unscathed.
The police pointed out that children and animals should not be locked in vehicles. Now the man has to answer on suspicion of violating the duty of care and supervision. Thank you to the attentive citizens.
