The State Office for Health and Social Affairs reported 15 additional deaths on Monday. Eight of these occurred between Tuesday and Friday last week, said Lagus spokeswoman Anja Neutzling on Tuesday when asked by the German Press Agency. "Due to the high level of sick leave and the holiday season, there may be minimal delays in the reporting process."
A late registration from April is also included. The Monday report has summarized three days since the end of April. There had previously been a daily report on Saturday and Sunday. Five people died last weekend and one on Monday. “The number of deaths is always indirectly related to the current infection situation,” explained Neutzling. The now deceased all came from the particularly vulnerable group of older people and were between 68 and 100 years old. 14 of them were treated in the hospital, 11 of them because of a corona infection.
