Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Minister sees judiciary on the right track when it comes to digitization

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - From the point of view of the responsible minister Jacqueline Bernhardt (left), Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has made progress in the digitization of the judiciary. "The electronic file is already being used in all civil senates of the higher regional court, in all civil chambers of the regional courts and in all civil and support departments of the district courts," said Minister of Justice Bernhardt on Wednesday in Schwerin. The pilot phase is running in other departments.

230 judges are already working with the current 54,000 digital files, which is a good half. Bernhardt is confident that in the three years remaining according to the law, the overall switch to electronic files is feasible. "The electronic file is an important part of a citizen-oriented and efficient judiciary in the near future," said the minister.

The state government as a whole, on the other hand, still has to catch up when it comes to digitization. According to the Online Access Act (OZG), all administrative services should have been digitized by the end of the year. By the beginning of November, however, only 224 of a total of 4,000 offers from the state and municipalities in the north-east could be used via the state-owned MV service portal.
