Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Neubrandenburg wants to waive the entertainment tax in 2023

Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) - The event industry, which has been badly hit by the corona pandemic, should not have to pay an entertainment tax in Neubrandenburg in 2023 either. This provides for a draft resolution from the city administration, which the city representatives want to advise on this Thursday, as a city spokesman said on Tuesday. One wants to continue to relieve the organizers. Despite limited financial leeway, there was cross-party approval for this in the committees.

The third largest city in the northeast with 65,000 inhabitants had collected around 39,000 euros in entertainment tax in the last pre-Corona year 2019. The city had already waived this tax for concert and festival organizers in 2022 and is celebrating its 775th anniversary in 2023 - with many events.
