Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Ökoenergieverband calls for clear specifications for renewables

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The state association for renewable energies (LEE) in the north-east still misses clear rules for the approval of wind power and photovoltaic systems. The unclear and inconsistent planning requirements of the state are the main obstacle that leads to long approval processes, said the association's chairman Johann-Georg Jaeger in Schwerin.

He welcomed the streamlining of procedures planned by Environment Minister Till Backhaus (SPD) and the new appointments at the State Offices for Agriculture and the Environment (Stalu). The association also has a great interest in this, but the place where nature conservation issues are processed is not the main problem.

In order to simplify the processes, Backhaus wants to relocate the testing processes for nature and species protection from the districts to the three environmental offices in the state. In order to be able to carry out these tasks, 15 additional positions are to be created.
