Erfurt (dpa/th) - The CDU education politician Christian Tischner doubts whether an agreement with red-red-green for a change in the Thuringian school law can be achieved. In order to reach a compromise, points are needed that increase the quality of education in Thuringia, Tischner told the German Press Agency in Erfurt. "If I apply this criterion to the draft law, then I don't see it anywhere." Left, SPD and Greens recently presented a legislative package to modernize the Thuringian school system.
Among other things, the government factions want to introduce new pedagogical and administrative assistants in schools, abolish the special performance assessment in the tenth grade at high schools and strengthen community schools. The CDU is critical of the proposals and strictly rejects some points.
At the same time, there is another draft law by the CDU and FDP that aims to make it easier for parents to decide for themselves whether their child with special needs goes to inclusive classes or learns at a special school.
