Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Pleas expected in the abuse process

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - In the trial for serious sexual child abuse, the pleas from the public prosecutor's office and the defense are expected on Wednesday (10 a.m.) at the Schwerin district court. The 46-year-old accused had confessed to having abused an eleven-year-old boy in a holiday resort in Schwerin in January 2019. The man, who lives in Lower Saxony, initiated contact with the child in the spring of 2018 via a gaming platform on the Internet.

After that, there were around 40 video calls in which the accused encouraged the boy to engage in sexual acts and also performed such acts on himself. The saved video chats were found as part of another investigation. The court, the public prosecutor and the defense had agreed that the maximum sentence to be expected in the event of a comprehensive confession would not exceed five years and three months. The driver had already been sentenced to prison in Lower Saxony in 2020 for similar crimes.
