Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: process: police reconstructed corpse transport

Rostock (dpa/mv) - In the trial of a 27-year-old accused of murdering his parents and sister, the police have announced further details of their investigative work. Then the removal of the three bodies was reconstructed. "It is quite possible to do it alone," said a police officer called as a witness in front of the Rostock district court on Tuesday. The accused is said to have transported the bodies with a sack truck. The investigator also evaluated receipts and receipts for purchases in hardware stores that could be related to the construction of the coffins.

The accused German has remained silent since the opening of the hearing on November 15. Numerous witnesses have already been heard, including close relatives of the victims. During the police interrogations, the 27-year-old had confessed to the crimes extensively. At the start of the trial, however, he had his lawyer withdraw all previous statements.

On the previous day of the trial, a police officer had reported from the interrogations that the accused had stated very calmly after his arrest that he had killed his father, mother and sister.

According to the indictment, he is said to have murdered his father (52) and his sister (25) and a few days later his mother (48) in a brutal manner with a crossbow and a garden machete in Rövershagen near Rostock on February 7, 2022. Later he is said to have buried the bodies in self-made coffins on a lonely edge of a field. If found guilty, he faces a life sentence.
