Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Program for everyday help in day-care centers extended until the end of 2024

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The daycare centers can continue to employ the additional helpers they have hired since 2021 or hire new ones. The state is extending the everyday helper program until the end of 2024, the responsible Ministry of Education in Schwerin announced on Sunday. Four million euros are available.

The assistants are intended to relieve the daycare staff of simple and everyday work, for example in the kitchen, setting the table and cleaning up or disinfecting.

According to the information, 358 everyday helpers were newly hired in 2021. In addition, hours were increased for 175 people to take on everyday helper activities. The figures for 2022 would be expected in the spring. The everyday aids are to be trained in special courses in the future.
