Rostock (dpa/mv) - Vacationers in Rostock should possibly benefit from a digital guest card from next summer. With it, tourists should be able to use local transport or toilets free of charge, said the tourism center in Rostock and Warnemünde on Friday. The guest card should cost 3.70 euros and also offer discounts on guided tours and round trips, in museums or in wellness offers. According to the plans, tourists could access the digital document at home and then use it in Rostock.
A new version of the spa tax statute is still needed. In March, the citizenship is to decide on the proposed resolution. If they agree, the new regulation can be introduced as early as June.
With the recognition as a tourist destination by the state government last year, Rostock can now also levy the spa tax for the entire city area. It is earmarked and should flow into the further development of tourist offers.
