Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: SSC after victory in Vilsbiburg: "Simple things well done"

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - At the moment, everything is going according to plan for the volleyball players at SSC Palmberg Schwerin. Coach Felix Koslowski's team has played three games in the Bundesliga so far and after the 3-0 (25:14, 25:15, 25:13) win in the top duel against Rote Raben Vilsbiburg on Wednesday evening, they are not only still at the top of the table, but is the only team not yet to lose a set. "We did the simple things really well. We did good high-ball sets and then we were able to score from all balls," was Captain Anna Pogany's comment on the one-sided duel. If there are phases in which things don't work, Pogany doesn't see a problem: "It makes us different that we come into our system from difficult situations."

For them, given the good serve, acceptance and pressure was the key to success. The team was also undeterred by five service errors in the first set. "It's a fine line to walk," admitted coach Felix Koslowski. "We want to put a lot of pressure on and serve aggressively." Another reason he gave for his team's victory was the defensive performance. "Our block acted very well today and took the attackers from Vilsbiburg out of the game for long periods."

The SSC then has to play the next league game on November 19 at defending champion Allianz MTV Stuttgart. Before that, the round of 16 in the DVV Cup at SSC Freisen is on the program on Sunday (3:30 p.m.).
