Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: theater maker Wolfgang Bordel died

Anklam (dpa / mv) - The theater maker, who is particularly important for Western Pomerania and long-time director of the Vorpommersche Landesbühne Wolfgang Bordel, is dead. He died on Friday at the age of 71, a spokeswoman for the Vorpommersche Landesbühne told the German Press Agency. The “North Kurier” had previously reported. Bordel had a serious accident at the end of last year. Most recently, however, he worked again at the Vorpommersche Landesbühne.

Bordel was a cultural award winner from the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. He significantly shaped the theater landscape in Western Pomerania and, for example, saved the theater in Anklam after the fall of the Wall, above all through the summer performances on Usedom and with open airs. These include the Vineta Festival in Zinnowitz.
