Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Theater und Orchester GmbH retains management duo Müller/Bähr

Neustrelitz (dpa/mv) - One of the largest multi-genre theaters in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania - the Theater und Orchester GmbH Neubrandenburg/Neustrelitz - relies on continuity at the top management. As the GmbH announced on Wednesday, the contracts for the artistic director and opera director Sven Müller and his commercial director Malte Bähr have been extended by five years to 2029. The supervisory board and shareholders have now decided that. Both have been running the house with 204 actors and employees since the 2019/20 season.

The GmbH includes, among other things, the ensemble of music theater and drama with 22 employees and the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic with 69 musicians and members. The main venues are the theater in Neustrelitz and the playhouse and concert church in Neubrandenburg. 18 premieres in music theater and drama are planned for the 2022/23 season. The next premiere is the opera "Eugene Onegin" on November 26th.

In the summer of 2023, 45-year-old Maik Priebe will also start as a new acting director. In addition, the TOG is looking for a new general music director, as Sebastian Tewinkel did not want to extend his contract again. Before the corona pandemic, up to 120,000 guests came to the performances in one season of the GmbH.
