Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Three injured in slippery accidents in Schwerin

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - Three people were injured in accidents in connection with snowfall and ice in Schwerin. As a police spokesman announced on Friday, a 40-year-old driver slid his car against a lamp post on Thursday evening. The trapped man was rescued with serious injuries and taken to a clinic. In the district of Medewege in the north, a 20-year-old slipped his car into oncoming traffic, causing a collision with another vehicle. The two injured drivers were taken to a hospital.

It is still being investigated why the 20-year-old came into the opposite lane on the B104. The damage to property in both accidents totaled around 30,000 euros. The police had to record a total of 14 ice-related accidents in Schwerin on Thursday evening with heavy snowfall at times.
