Wismar (dpa / mv) - Due to the warning of black ice, the Christmas market in Wismar is canceled on Monday. "Since freezing rain is forecast for today and it can get pretty slippery on the streets and sidewalks, the Wismar Christmas market will remain closed today (December 19)," the city administration announced on Monday.
The German Weather Service (DWD) had warned about the storm "Franziska" for northern Germany: "The alarm bells are ringing for the meteorologists, because then rain falls on frozen ground and it comes to smoothness and frost," said meteorologist Karsten pumpkin on Sunday.
