Near the Adam Street bonfire in north Belfast, bricks and petrol bombs were thrown.

Police received a report that a few youths were causing disorder in the Duncairn Gardens area shortly before 17:00 BST Thursday.

According to police, the incident is being treated as a hate crime. They will also maintain a "visible presence in the area."

One person was cautioned about possessing an offensive weapon.

Ch Insp Darren Fox stated that police "closely liaise with community representatives in order to reduce tensions".

He said, "We are also grateful to the public for their support as we work together to ensure that the area remains peaceful and calm."
