North Rhine-Westphalia: 41-year-old beaten up while reading in a park

Velbert (dpa / lnw) - A 41-year-old man was involved in a dispute in Velbert in a park while reading a book by a group of about five young men and was beaten up. A reason for the attack is unclear, the police said on Monday. The man said he passed out after being hit in the face and fell to the ground. According to the police, a witness observed that the attackers are said to have kicked the 41-year-old, who was lying defenseless on the ground, twice in the face. The witness also called the police after the attack on Saturday around 6 p.m. The attackers were able to escape despite an immediate search. The victim received emergency medical attention and was then taken to the hospital.
