Wesel (dpa / lnw) - An 82-year-old driver of a pedelec was hit and seriously injured while crossing a street in Wesel. The police said on Friday that the 37-year-old, who hit the 82-year-old with his car, had evidence of drug use. A blood sample was taken, but the result was still pending. The 82-year-old was injured in the eye area in the accident on Thursday evening and taken to a hospital.
A 55-year-old was injured in another pedelec accident in North Rhine-Westphalia on Friday night. According to the police in Gladbeck, the man got off the road with his two-wheeler and crashed into a tree. There was evidence of alcohol consumption, it said. The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
