"According to the unanimous statements of the children and grandchildren as well as other witnesses, the couple had an excellent and happy marriage for 62 years," said the senior public prosecutor.
However, all witnesses reported that the old man had "changed his personality" in the past few weeks. The 84-year-old was recently - unfoundedly - afraid of being followed and arrested by the police.
Therefore, according to Dombert, a psychiatric expert will be consulted to assess whether the 84-year-old is possibly less guilty.
