North Rhine-Westphalia: 85-year-old cyclist dies in an accident with a turning truck

Cologne (dpa / lnw) - An 85-year-old cyclist died after a collision with a truck in Cologne. The senior was cycling on Friday when a truck driver apparently missed and hit him when turning right, police said. The 85-year-old was injured so badly that he died on Monday night. In order to be able to reconstruct the exact course of the accident, the investigators hope for information from witnesses. Because of the truck driver's limited view, turning accidents occur again and again, in which cyclists are seriously injured or die.
