Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - "Anyone who wants to race has no business in Dortmund": Under this motto, the police raised 34 warning money for driving too fast and numerous reports due to a control action against the tuner, speeder and poser scene various violations issued. A total of 58 vehicles were checked during the night on Saturday in downtown Dortmund, in the areas of the port and Phoenix-West as well as on Phoenixsee, officials said on Sunday.

A driver from Bochum, for example, was traveling at a speed of 86 kilometers per hour in a 50 zone. Two people were also forbidden to continue driving because they were driving their vehicles under the strong influence of alcohol or narcotics. Their driver's licenses were confiscated.

An accident late on Saturday evening could possibly be attributed to an illegal race, the police reported. A 22-year-old left the road and crashed into a parked car and a tree. According to witness statements, he had been "much too fast". The driver and his passenger were not injured.
