Soest (dpa / lnw) - Almost 30,000 chickens suffocated in a poultry farm in Soest. According to initial assessments, the stable's electronic ventilation system had been manipulated by previously unknown perpetrators, the police said on Wednesday. An employee found the animals dead on Tuesday afternoon. The poultry is said to have been alive a few hours earlier. Further details of the alleged crime initially remained unclear.
The criminal police took up the investigation and was looking for witnesses to the crime. The dead bodies of the chickens were disposed of, according to a spokesman.
