North Rhine-Westphalia: arrest after attack in Bocholt

Bocholt (dpa / lnw) - After a man was critically injured in an attack in Bocholt, the police arrested two suspects. The two 19 and 24-year-old men are strongly suspected of ambushing the 26-year-old victim in a parking lot and attacking him with a baseball bat, kicks and a glass bottle, police said on Friday. After the incident on Wednesday evening, the man was taken to the hospital with the rescue helicopter, and a homicide commission began investigating.

According to the police report, these led to the two young men. According to initial findings, the motive lies in the private sphere. The 19-year-old and the 24-year-old should be brought before the magistrate on Friday. The younger man was initially silent about the allegations, the older man admitted that he had been in the parking lot, but denied the attack.

A 20-year-old woman, who, according to the police report, apparently arranged a meeting with the victim in the parking lot, was arrested but released from police custody.
