Essen (dpa / lnw) - At the start of the new week, people in North Rhine-Westphalia have to continue to adjust to the changeable weather. After a predominantly clear Sunday with highs of up to 29 degrees Celsius, the clouds are expected to thicken on Monday, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Sunday in Essen. Mostly it stays dry, from the afternoon there should be a low risk of showers and thunderstorms in the Weserbergland. The temperatures rise slightly up to 31 degrees.

In the night to Tuesday further showers will move through from the southwest, isolated thunderstorms are also possible. For Tuesday, the weather service expects a mix of clouds and showers with maximum temperatures between 24 and 28 degrees. Strong thunderstorms are also possible locally, which gradually subside towards the evening. There may still be a few showers or thunderstorms on Wednesday night.

According to the DWD forecast, clouds and sometimes thundery showers will also determine the weather on Wednesday. Temperatures of up to 26 degrees are expected.
