A spokeswoman said on Thursday. "Mayor Henriette Reker, to whom the topic of Cologne and the region is very important, supports the idea of raising awareness of the region even more," she explained. She is therefore exploring the general conditions for a possible application for an Expo 2035.
The "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger" had previously reported. The Rheinisches Revier could be a location for an Expo site, the newspaper wrote. In 2021 the Expo took place in Dubai.
