North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona incidence in NRW at 637.6

Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) - The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the seven-day incidence of corona infections in North Rhine-Westphalia on Thursday as 637.6. On Wednesday 643.0 were reported, a week ago the value was just under 400. Nationwide, the incidence was 793.8 as of Thursday.

The health authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia reported 24,828 new infections and 22 new deaths in connection with the virus to the RKI within 24 hours.

However, this information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations and transmission problems can lead to the distortion of individual daily values.
