North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona rules in NRW continue to apply unchanged

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The corona rules in North Rhine-Westphalia with the obligation to wear masks on buses and trains as well as in medical and nursing facilities continue to apply for the time being. The country extended the Corona Protection Ordinance unchanged until September 30th. Even after that, the state is preparing for the continuation of the previous corona rules on the basis of the new Federal Infection Protection Act, which will apply from October 1st, Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU) announced on Wednesday.

"The infection situation in North Rhine-Westphalia is currently stable, and the number of patients in hospitals infected with corona has decreased in recent weeks," said Laumann. The country is continuously monitoring the corona situation at the beginning of autumn. Based on the new Infection Protection Act, the federal states could react quickly to a critical development of infection. "But the current figures do not give any reason to take further protective measures," said Laumann.
