North Rhine-Westphalia: dead pair of peregrine falcons found: probably poisoned

Münster (dpa / lnw) - Two dead peregrine falcons were found on a telecommunications tower in Münster, which the police said were probably poisoned. Already in the middle of the year, three dead falcons were discovered on the tower, which had died from the poison carbofuran, which is banned in the EU, the police said on Friday. The current case therefore suggests that it could again be a case of poisoning. A toxicological study should provide more detailed information. Peregrine falcons are particularly strictly protected by the Federal Nature Conservation Act.
