North Rhine-Westphalia: Huge birdcage in a small car: the police stops the driver

Hagen (dpa / lnw) - A 61-year-old man transported a cage with parrots that was much too large for his car and the police noticed it. In order to be able to accommodate the cage better, he had opened the top of his convertible. Nevertheless, the cage, which also had a base with rollers, protruded from the windscreen to the trunk and hardly left the driver any space, according to a police report on Sunday.

Nevertheless, the 61-year-old made his way from Wuppertal to Iserlohn with the four birds, but had to hold on to their dwelling with one hand on the way. Witnesses noticed this in Hagen and called the police. According to the information, the man had greatly underestimated the dimensions of the birdcage. He was notified of insufficient load securing. The four parrots survived the improvised transport unharmed.
