North Rhine-Westphalia: insults and attacks: probation for 53-year-olds

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - A 53-year-old has been sentenced to a suspended sentence of seven months for insulting two police officers and attacking the relatives of a neighbor. The verdict was pronounced on Tuesday at the district court in Düsseldorf.

The office clerk insulted two police officers in the old town on a May evening in 2020. One of the officers said as a witness that, as he recalled, the woman was found with a drink in her hand and probably wanted to check her for violating the corona protection requirements. A scuffle ensued in which everyone involved fell to the ground. The 53-year-old's defense attorney said his client couldn't remember it but didn't deny it.

In another incident, the woman attacked her elderly neighbor's son-in-law in the hallway with a kitchen knife and followed him into the street. An expert said that the woman was heavily intoxicated at the time of the crime with almost two per thousand and therefore only partially responsible. The defendant explained that she could not remember this incident either. The judgment is not final.
