Essen (dpa / lnw) - In the coming days it will mostly be cold and dry in North Rhine-Westphalia. On Thursday it will be sunny in many places, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced in Essen in the morning. In the north and east of the country and at higher altitudes, light permafrost with values ​​between minus three degrees and zero degrees is expected, in the south and west temperatures will reach plus two degrees. In the night to Friday, the temperatures should drop to minus three to minus ten degrees, isolated snow showers are possible. The weather service warns of slippery roads due to freezing wet.

In the east, sun and clouds alternate on Friday, in the western half it is mostly cloudy with local snow grains. The maximum values ​​are between minus two and plus two degrees. Saturday night will remain dry, but occasionally slippery.

For Saturday, the DWD meteorologists expect a mix of sun and clouds with maximum values ​​of up to two degrees. During the night it cools down to minus ten degrees in places and it becomes locally smooth.
